Hi everyone. I have setup a subdomain on my finance site to accept finance article submissions. I would like to get some opinions on the layout, etc. I have 2 dummy test articles posted just for show. The url is http://money.financenewstoday.com

We are live now so if you write finance articles be sure to register and bookmark it for future reference.

The overall design could be improved, the page looks a bit crammed, and your
ad placement is not good. You should get a professional template.

Are you selling stuff to the writers, or gaining web content from them for free?

If this is the later, lose the ads. Why did you change the layout from the original site?

If I were an author, I would have to ask you why would I need to scroll down past ads to give you content, really - I'm not going to click any of them. I'm submitting my articles to between 4 and 104 sites over the next bit of time. Make it easy for me please. :)

Currently, you have a disclaimer than no articles can be republished on your blog without written consent. Does this mean my article can't easily be syndicated from your site? Where are the rules for submission, what rights do I convey to your entity? Are direct links allowed in the article? Must it be unique, or can I post the same article that I submitted over at ........articlesomething.....com? What rules do you have on the resourse box?

You have a nice looking original site. This part should be even cleaner - remove all the ads. They are doing you a great service so make it easy for them. They might go to your site later to see their article, hit them with the ads at that point :)

You might want to check out the view using Firefox. The layout on placement of images seem to be misaligned

I was attempting to design a finance free articles website where writers could submit articles for free, but that would also mimic the look and feel of sites like smartmoney.com, money.com etc. I will look at moving the google ads to another part of template.

Is it the header ad or the 2 ads around the top story? I am thinking of moving the block ad to the far right and enlarging the top stories area. I changed the layout because I was not pleased with the way the article appeared on the article page.

I am in the process of writing a guidelines page. What I am mostly concerned with was the thoughts on the general layout of the site.

Once articles are input in the site there will be a lot of content up top. The box will have links to the last 5-10 articles posted with the category.

The reason for the disclaimer on the blog is that the articles were written by me and there is no bio box for link back. the blog guidelines have no bearing on the article site. I should probably clear that up some.

Your site looks pretty professional, however I think adding text next to your sub categories will do wonders for your website.

The text in the category boxes will be viisible once the articles are input. Category boxes will display the last articles from that category. Additional changes have been made. I would like some additional input and thoughts.

    I would suggest:
    1) Add more content
    2) View the site using forefox(as i am) and the left side of the homepage seems cramped
    3) Categorise the latest articles (I would probably create a seperate page for the latest articles), with a few select being shown on the homepage to entice viewers to read those few.
    4) Add a sitemap
    5) Use a premium template or more appealing template which is free.

Best of luck with the site

    Kind Regards
