I'd like any comments on the design, layout, and ease of use of my website. Any kind of improvement tips (seo, graphics, etc) are welcome. thank you! http://www.hobbyblock.com
I hate to say this, but I think you need to look at your sites html coding and style sheets. The reasons for this is because there is things on your site that seem to be out of place. You have written on images and things which shouldn't be like that by the looks of things. Have you checked your site in Firefox which is the browser I am using. When doing a site, you should check it in different screen resolutions and also browsers, plus different versions of browsers. Different browsers display information and use information differently. Apart from that, if you adjust the out of line text and images and things, I am sure it will be a nice site and good luck.
the page looks fine in IE, i never checked it with firefox... Thank you very much for pointing this out. Im going to start fixing it
Hi - I like the design and looks like you have a nice lot of content. Couple of suggestions though... the Hobby Block logo I feel lacks something and think you could perhaps make that look a little better. I also think maybe the icons for Home, Checkout etc... could be a little more prominent and perhaps the links on the left could be slightly more interesting. Think strongly about colour and design - Ideally you want kids to enjoy browsing the site as I assume that is your target audience. It's a nice start though and good luck with it
I would make your blue background to a dark grey or black because it's attracting too much attention at the moment and the main focus of the site should be on the layout in the centre Edit: ah! for some reason the post posted 3 times more than what it was suppose to (arrr, my wireless). I'm so Sorry, please remove MODs. Thank you.
Thanks for all the comments. Ive spent the past day making the changes that people suggested. My site was a mess in firefox, so I cleaned that up a bit. Only problem is I still have that broken box model thing happening on some of the divs, but its minor. I changed the background color to black, and made the header buttons much bigger, as was suggested. I also made the left nav bar a little bit better looking with larger font and rollover colors. Tell me what you guys think!
I appreciate all the great comments so far. I've changed the background to a light grey as suggested, and I updated my logo to something a little more spiffy.
I like your site a lot. Lots of great content and pics. The only that kinda bothered me was your adds on the bottom of the page. It might just be me but anytime i see ads like that I just lose trust in the site. By the way how much are you making off those adds in relations to your own sales. I was just wondering if it was actually bringing a significant amount of your revenue. JerrSun
I actually just added those adbrite ads a few days ago, so I havent made any money so far off them. I figured I give them a shot for a few weeks and see what happens, if they dont bring me any revenue I'll just ditch them. As for what script I'm using... It's just a prostore shopping cart backend. I like them because you have so much flexibility with designing.
