Your site looks good. You might want to make some kind of picture/logo for your header to grab attention - the page is kind of plain.

I like ur site too, but it is still too plain..i think that some colours would finish the job....my favourite in combination with black is appel-green (bright). Pick your color...most will do..

 

There is a large blank section in the right beneath recent comments and recent readers. I would prefer to see these closer together.

 

Like the others say is too plain

Here my opinion : your site is attend competition, and the winner get money and money make happy.

With those things your site should be colorful, maybe you can use colorful typeface, put picture or cartoon of funny man/woman with money bag in his/her hand, or anything related with happy and fun theme.
