How is this review/C2B computer monitors website looking? Color scheme advice? Layout advice? Other advice? Computer Monitors
i would say its ok, but some of the graphics appear to be very n00bish. Specifically the $ and the double arrow. Other than that looks nice.
yes thats exactly what i feared. any ideas for new pics or should I just scrap them all together. EDIT: How are the new ones?
Hmmm... I still don't like the double arrow/dollar sign. Maybe hire out to get someone for that? I usually do for my graphic needs. Another suggestion for the top banner is to either give it a background color of its own (besides white) or at least frame the white on the right and left border with a thin line. Also, on the nav line (home, economical, etc.) include a line border on the top and bottom so that the current page's tab doesn't look so orphaned. Hope this helps -Alex P.S. I'm not sure if you just haven't finished coding yet, but the links to buy/look at reviews for specific monitors aren't working. Example: http://www.computermonitorszone.com/hannsgHW191A.html.
I included the navbar border and took out the price and size section in favor of a sweet idea by perlbone. more to come soon. Does it look better without that section for now? How is the blue working for you guys on the category pages? (havent finished the individual product pages yet, I know most important part right, but thanks for noticing)
I'm not overly keen on the font and I find the "Google" ads in the middle of the page and the other sponsored ads to the left of the page to be somewhat of a distracton. I personally feel that you are giving away your most valuable "real estate" to your sponsored ads and a big "white" area then hiding your own big seller/eyecatcher (Featured Monitor) in a place that has to be scrolled to for most users; I would certainly consider moving that to a location where it can be seen on arriving at the page. With many users you only have a matter of seconds to catch their attention and convince them to start exploring you site further.
It looks a lot better just from those changes. This is a small change, but perhaps taking the four categorical sections on top and making them centered vertically. That might just be OCD though, they're almost in the middle already. It might work to bring the top edge of the entire content down for one or two line breaks instead of having it flush with the top. Having a bit of gray above it might help center the whole design. Anyone else have thoughts on that?
I agree. The featured monitor bit looks great and should go right below the nav bar IMO. Change that up and go from there
