Hello everybody Just finished working on my bowling blog website where you can register and add your friends, get the lastest bowling news, and sign up to get your own free bowling blog. Please review the site at: http://www.blogbowler.com Thanks in advance.
My biggest concern is that you put advertisements in your prime real estate. Above the fold in bottom right-hand corner is money spot. Thats why most members-only websites place their login information there. Personally, I'd take the sign-in form and drop to that corner, and then use that newly available real estate to get your visitors excited about signing up. I'm 21 and every year since I was 8 I've been in bowling leagues, so my other suggest comes from the perspective of a consumer. No-one knows shit about a bowling ball before they buy it, they don't know if it's right for their arm, what 'boards of hook' mean in layman's terms, or to be quite honest how to chose a ball. There is probably a decent opportunity for your there, and to monetize it all you'd need to do is find a good affiliate offer. Thats probably your best solution for monetizing the site to be frank.
Thanks for the comments, great to get some feedback of the site, from all kinds of perspective. So your saying that the sign up form, Already a member area should be moved down into the 3rd column around where the search field is right? And then use that available spot to add more incentives to join? The large blue area with the image and signup box, disppears when your logged in. My monetization ideas was regular ads from an ad network, need to find a good one, and then to sell the 125x125 banner spots to the manufactuers and pro shops, tournaments etc. All ideas appriciated. Thanks again.
Have you thought about marketing this by creating a facebook app, an android app and an iphone app? I think those are fairly small investments and can really give people a reason to engage in your site.
I sure have.. Facebook App http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=122897274420241 iPhone or smartphone edition of the site: http://m.wbx.me/blogbowler (view on iPhone or smartphone) Also have a Twitter account for it www.twitter.com/BlogBowler All new posts are automaticly posted to Facebook and Twitter.
