Not sure if you have considered this or not but whenever I check out a blog I like to read a few details about its creator so perhaps you should add a description about yourself and your reasons for creating the site. And also change the "Just another wordpress.com site" quote.
Your blog is quite interesting and design is also quite good and simple but when someone start an informative blog, I always worried about the content that how log you will give your blog a new content.
The website loads fast, the layout is perfect, but the color mix is a bit dead like a news paper, maybe if you change some colors and ad some art work, thats just me tho. Good luck with your website !.
