I would put your profile pic and credability information at the top right with the RSS just below it, then the email opt in form! Let your subscribers know you are a professional that they cannot live without!

 

Too large top banners, I will put only one of them, this not good looking now.

 

Nice blog page. Give the break line between the two blogs, I think it will give better look.
