I'm considering selling it but I'm not sure as it's paying for my rent right now which means I have to work less

I'd like to know what it's worth and what I can do to improve the site. One of my top priorities (if I don't sell) is to encourage a LOT more South Africans to post their articles on the site.

It would also be great if more people commented on the articles.

Your thoughts?

 

Whats its worth would depend on how much it makes.

Average monthly earnings X's 10 is usually how its worked out.

Right now it's earning about $700 a month but I wouldn't like to sell it for less than $20k. What are my chances of getting that much? After all, the site DOES run itself.

Well its been up a year right ?

But you haven't really promoted it right ?(no offense intended)

Why not start to do that... you need only submit your site to a few directories a day and in no time at all you build up backlinks, which ultimately means you get more visitors/traffic and of course more sales/sign ups, then your site, all going well, will make twice what your earning now with more to follow with more work etc... thus then you can get your twenty grand or more

It really depends on the buyer but the norm is 10x's

Which directories should I submit to? Should I automate the process or do it manually? How many a day do you recommend?

Spend a few minutes here each day and submit to anything really, 99% of the threads are for Free directories, watch out for bid directories they are usually promoted the best because the owners want more submissions, naturally and a new bid directory owner will offer free listings to help fill up his/her directory to make it look good etc... perform an advanced search within that forum section, there should be a few directories specifically for Article related websites.

3 a day will bring in 20+ backlinks a week, that you didn't have before.

You might even consider using one of the guys or girls in here, they will do a submission package for you, leaving you time to book your next years holidays
