I'm impressed by the content and the layout despite it being a Blogger blog. I am fairly certain that if you took the time to develop a website outside of Blogger (using a domain name, hosting, and perhaps WordPress) you could get yourself into a wonderful niche market. Good job on scaling back on the ads - once you start getting interested readers I'm sure they'll stay.
