Please review my affiliate program!

I currently only have 14 affiliates, of only which about 4-5 are actually receiving click-thrus from their affiliate URL.

I have been having a hard time promoting my program, even though I can see through my stats that I receive many visitors to the affiliate info URL.

I am wondering if there is something I am doing wrong or if I am turning off potential affiliates in any way.

Unfortunately, I can only offer a 2-tier structure of 10%/5% due to my low profit margin.

I would hate to increase my profit margin on my products, as my main sale point to customers is that my products are discounted. If I increase my margin, I will not be able to compete very well in this market.

I believe the main point of my affiliate program is not that an affiliate will be 'rich overnight', but that my products are consumable products that will bring repeat sales (several of my customers have placed multiple orders).

Any insight from DP members will be greatly appreciated - and please be honest!

    The info is at http://www.drhfinegifts.com/affiliate_info.php

    Thanks!
    Denise

Are you sure you wouldn't get more affilates if you put the sign up form on the same page instead of on the next page?

    Also try http://www.affiliate-announce.com.

Is there anyway possible that you could create a different site (with the same inventory) and charge more money giving the affiliates a higher percentage (I know that sounds bad but it might work much better). Some people say 50-70% is good (atleast 40%) because you get a lot of the best affiliates preselling their visitors before they even get to your site. Anyway, it was just a thought.

Have you tried adding your inventory to Froogle or shopping.yahoo.com? I almost always search by price so if your stuff is the cheapest you will probably get a lot of customers that way.

Normally, you need to pay at least 50% or more for commision. otherwise, no body will be interested to promote for you.

Does anyone have any actual experience with http://www.affiliate-announce.com? I generally don't find this type of service to be valuable but would try it if it gets my program to people I would not find through just submiiting to regular affiliate program directories.

Also, does anyone know which affiliate directories are the most popular?

    Thanks!
