The price for an 800 monitor and 1024 are almost identical nowadays, so few people will choose a lower res monitor given the option. The problem is that not everyone has upgraded, so yes, there are still a lot of people out there with 800x600. But given the subject of his site (Mercedes), I very much doubt if people of a lower sociol economic status will be visiting his site in droves. It seems like a "rich man's" site to me, and rich men can afford higher res than 800x600. I say leave it as is.

This isn't a logical reason to not make your website friendly to everyone. Just because a person is looking at an expensive car doesnt mean the person has interest in computers. Many seniors for example aren't computer savy but might be looking for a Mecedes to buy. If over 35% of the internet as an estimate is using 800x600, they wouldnt be happy having to scroll to the side.

LOL. I don't know of any seniors who knows how to turn on a computer or use a mouse, much less surf the Internet on an 800 res and be bothered by having to scroll. That's somewhat stretching it. :)

Seniors was just a very prime example. You should always target to please and make the surfers visit to your website the best it can be. It's always a smart move to make sure everyone is viewing your website without having to scroll sideways. Even though this is a mercedes website, majority of the surfers are probably only looking at the website for personal interest or general information and not to buy the car obviously.

LOL. Came out as a "to design for 800x600" or " not to design for 800x600".
I say wait a few months and stop even thinking about 800x600.

What would you say about the AdSense item below the AdLinks one?

It looked OK on 1280x1024... Might be some big for 1024x768.
