    I have the following ads running on my site:

    - giffgaff - Sidebar and Bottom of Page.
    - Ad-sense - Top and Bottom of Sidebar and Bottom of Posts.
    - Vidahost - Top Right of Site (rollover link) and Bottom in Footer.
    - VigLink - Automatically changes outgoing links to Affiliate Links.

    First of all, the site looks good.
    Footer ad is useless - you can get rid of it.
    In order to have higher CTR try to insert ads onside the posts, otherwise it would be a major space without ads.

    your content is good but design is too simple . you can make background colourful. your ads placement is good.it will give your benefit if you put your ads in middle of your posts .you can put in header of your blog because there is lots of empty space.

    Your ad placement seems to be fine. But you will need to experiment different position of ads. I have attached few links below. You may find them useful.

    Adsense earnings heavily depend upon the traffic you get. It usually takes 800-1000 visitors to get few clicks. So it all depends on traffic.
