Hey everyone, I launched http://www.muttr.com on September 30th, 2009, and it has been growing pretty nicely each and every day. To date, Muttr has been reviewed as one of the top 50 amazing tech start-ups of 2009, by Killerstartups, by thenextweb, and more. Each review has been extremely positive and I feel the entire web community will benefit from Muttr. As you can see, the slogan is "Just Vent!" This alone should describe what the site is about But, anyway, I would like to see what everyone's opinions, comments, etc. truely are, so I came here to see what's up This is still BETA, and I will keep it in BETA until I feel that it is where I want it to be. Fortunately, I have been able to continue making it more user-friendly as it goes. More changes are in the works so feel free to make suggestions, but keep in mind the development team (me) could possibly be working on it already. Hope you enjoy the site! It's been an exciting ride so far.
The site looks good and i have to say very creative at being unique. I don't think i have seen a website about this topic yet but i am sure there will be a lot out there that will come up. Once a good idea is started a whole crowd will follow. Good luck with your website and it looks like you are going in the right direction with this website.
i think this site's layout and arannagement is perfect. colors also matching. simple logo and the design also simple and attractive
The logo could get work but I love the concept of your site. I love the cms used and the structure of the site. Although you may not need it, here are the seo statistics. #1 | PR: 1 | Google Cache Date: - | Traffic Value: - | Age: - | del.icio.us: ? | del.icio.us Page Bookmarks: ? | Diggs: ? | Digg's Popular Stories: ? | Stumbleupon: ? | Twitter: 6 | Y! Links: 199 | Y! .edu Links: 0 | Y! .gov Links: 0 | Y! The site needs directory listings, more press, more social media marketing and then a lot more links -- possibly try a ton of different link building options.
I like warm color scheme. Nice choice. "Search for Muttrs" search box hint doesn't go away then the text box gets focus.
Thanks a bunch guys @VisitStreamerGuys - do you have javascript disabled or something? It works fine for me. @Deus Ex - I actually don't use a CMS, I figured a CMS would be way to bulky for a site like this, I love being in control over the entire thing. I know, it needs more exposure... trying to get a press release going so i can submit it to prweb Also working on getting tshirts made. I know a bit about SEO and stuff but you seem to know what's up, so if you can guide me in the right direction as to getting this exposed more, please let me know Now about the logo, I am not sure what needs work with it, the majority(by a lot) seem to love it and its simplicity. So, maybe you can tell me why you think it needs work?
The images in your website don't have alt key words. This could help your site visibility But overall its nice website.
ah good call... never knew about this site haha, thanks. It shows "Total images found: 34 , 16 image(s) don't have ALT text." and alot of those images shown, are just little things it seems. Grade of 94, not too shabby though
Do you think containing each "muttr" or comment in a header tag would be good? or would that be too much?
Alright, well I will try it for a bit... I just hope it doesn't get overwhelming some how lol... For now I am only going to wrap the actual postdetails page of the muttrs in headers, not the list of all of them... I am afraid google might not like all the headers for w/e reason lol... anyone else have an opinion on this?
Interesting site, but not my cup of tea. I don't see the reason why I should complain on a website just to vent. I have real friends to do that! ;-) No seriously - its great for your target audience and simple to use. Well done!
I see that problem in Google Chrome. Yeah and about the title tags. You should really think how to make them different. Try site:muttr.com command. That you have right now is not good. Include category name in the title for a category pages. Extract first line or first sentence or first 10-15 words from the mutt to make a title. ps: congrats with the site, it's growing nicely.
hmm.. well on a positive note, Google has started caching the new titles and descriptions I made it so that certain pages (such as categories and posts) display either what the post says or a simple description of a category I have also added a few features for members, such as editing posts, tracking comments/posts, and a bar graph displaying how their muttrs are being voted by the community (it's called "Muttr Mood" right now cuz i can't think of anything else to call it, any suggestions? lol) Also I am getting the Press Release out on prweb
