The template you are using makes the forum look a bit generic because I've seen
this template on many sites. You should customize the template by changing
up the color scheme and adding some graphics into the header, or getting a
professional template instead.

 

The overall look does seems like a standard template. To stand out I would create unique logo. The one you have seems quite common, maybe not exact but I've seen very similar ones. Adding a few more colors (an orange may work) would also help.

Use a better logo. It looks like MSN's messenger logo for me. Like other's review, I would change the default color theme and use something else.

Try to customize more your template. i agree with kingofsanda, your forum looks generic.
