Hi could you please give some constructive comments on the site below http://www.sunderlandwiki.com Im unsure on having a fixed bacground as opposed to a plain white background, i dont want any colour as that would take attention away fromt he content... Thanks Allen
Hi there, here are some comments (IMHO) : 1. Too much wasted space at the top of the page - logo and your title wasted nearly half the screen. 2. The background image looks very low-resolution. 3. Have a contact page rather than putting your email address on the page (you will get spammed from here till Mars like this) 4. Lots of dead links in the menu - Why do you have 'other languages' ? best of luck.
Hi there, thanks for the information,. The res of the pic is quite high I think its just the fact thats its greyscaled makes it look poor, I think ill remove it to be honest. The other languedges is that as its a wiki the user can write there artciels in an installed languedge and it will pick it up. I take on board the space wasting, I agree, im struggling to move the adds further down as I dont want the add in the content. Hmm, food for thought , thanks!
Hey there, I would take it a bit easy on the ads. I dont really know where its safe to click/where I should click to get to the information that made me come to the site in the first place. Might piss off surfers and stop them from coming back (becoming bookmarkers). You should read up on SEO basics. You can find tons of good information right here on DP actually. With good onsite optimization for example you will be able to increase your traffic from the search engines and onsite optimization isnt something that I would imagine take to long with your site. Make sure you read up on keyword research first though so you can determine what relevant keywords you want to target/get traffic for. Good luck man.
Hi Vallento, again, some great information there to be getting on with, thanks for taking the time to have a look.
No worries bud. If you would like feedback on anything specific just shoot me a pm and I'll take a look! Again good luck with the site.
