I think link exchange / link posting is a good source of traffic specially through SEO as people will search for a certain link and if your site has enough people submitting information then no matter what your website will show up in a search, revenue wise I'm not too sure on how well the traffic is going to be because they are going there to look for a link not to click your ads or see what you have to offer. Perhaps later on down the road if you recieve enough traffic I suggest offering some kind of premium link posting feature or atleast paid advertising so your making something. Now with your article posting website, I recommend starting off small you can't just jump in and play with the big boys if you start off with 100 topics it's going to take forever to fill them and it will make your site look inactive, I suggest starting off small with maybe 10 topics just generalize it and then if there is enough posts about a different type of topic, perhaps make a "Other" topic and when you get enough people posting the same related things then create a topic to go with it. Gosh.. you REALLY need to work on your templates for both sites mate. Also for your article directory, being bombarded with 3 large ads right at the start might not be a good idea. Try subtly placing ads inside the content or something.

Yes you are right.You have to place an ad only in content area and one more thing is that both site have no page rank.so make it popular.

 

I would add some back ground, and/or attractive banner ad instead text to article directory.

 

I would make the banner larger and add to it. The ads kind of jump out, you may want to try another template.

Like bizjam mentioned you need to sort out the logo and those adverts are just badly placed mate. I would suggest contacting someone to help make you a decent logo (I may be able to help). As for the advertising issue I would perhaps switch to a leader sized ad for the top and perhaps place the box ad at the bottom where you have the leader ad already.

I haven't actually used the site yet but as I just launched a new website myself I might just make use of it. Seems a nice idea and overall a decent design.

 

You should add article in html version so it would be easy to get it syndicated or I just did not see it.

You need a design, as well as a logo.
It looks way too much like a parked page, you need to add pictures and it could do with the menu being horizontal.
The advertisement is completely out of place.
Put "view example page" instead of "example page", I thought that it was an unfinished website (template)
The tag cloud and categories look just how they are on a parked page.
