Looking for ideas on improving site design and layout to increase the number of conversions/signups to our services. Thanks! Your feedback is much appreciated!
Sorror: Frames? Site looks frame-free to me. Nice site - colour, layout, etcetera. You're missing a doctype, however - make sure you add one: http://www.w3.org/QA/2002/04/valid-dtd-list.html What's the sort area on the services? Looks to be no sort order at all. ~
Thanks everyone! Yes, some partner pages are framed to retain our branding. Thanks for catching the missing doctype. I'm not sure what you mean by 'sort area' ?
Should have been sort *order*. The area is the main content area of the page - where you list your services in two columns. I'm wondering if there's a reason to the sort, or if an alpha sort, or grouping, may be more in order. You've got the big ones on top (counter and stats), so I'm just wondering if that is the sort order (most popular towards the top). ~
Ah! Thanks for clarifying that! No there is no sort order, it was all just random. If you have any suggestions on organising them in order, I would love to hear them.
1) What's the most popular? [EDIT: ] What has the broadest appeal? As I said above, I would assume that that would be the counter / stats. 2) What flows together naturally? You've got: FadCounter, FadForms, Fad GuestBooks, FadTAF, FadSubmit, FadPromotion, FadName, FadTemplates, FadStats, FadPolls, FadForums, FadBanners, FadTraffic, Fad Ads, FadHost, Fad InSite We can make the following groupings: =1 Statistical information= FadCounter, FadStats =2 Visitor feedback and interaction= FadPolls, FadForums, Fad GuestBooks, FadTAF =3 Site creation= (naturally works with the next group) FadForms, FadTemplates, Fad InSite =4 Hosting / domains= (naturally works with the previous group) FadName, FadHost =5 Publicity= FadSubmit, FadPromotion, FadTraffic, Fad Ads, FadBanners So, I'd chunk related services, sorta like what I've done above. (And, if you don't have a brief article on how the 'to successfully use FadWebmaster tools', the above points out how the article may be structured. Id est, "First, get a host, then a domain, then create the content, then submit the site, then track and modify as necessary ... " Got it?) Note that, as I also state above, some of these naturally flow together, and may float around each other. However, people get far fewer hosts and domains than they do forms and the like - make sure you put the broader things first (someone who has a host, and someone who doesn't both may have an interest in your counter, but they won't have the same interest in your hosting content). Any clarification needed? ~
Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions and a special kudos to strivinglife for giving unconditionally!
ummm I think you have the word Fad way too many times on the page. Nice design and blending of the ads. It would look better if you just had Counter, Stats, Forms, ect instead of Fad everything.
Trippen, I do agree with you, however my primary aim is brand building and that is my reason for maintaining the 'fad' in all of my sites.
I just think the reader might get "Fad up" seeing the same word repeating all over the place other than that great site.
Trippen has a point (and a pretty good joke ). Is there a reason you don't have FadX across the services (Fad Guestbook and Fad Ads vs FadGuestbook and FadAds)? It's a consistency issue.
To improve readability; only because I already have GuestBook and InSite as two words clumped together or atleast capitalized as such. Ads shouldn't have been spaced.
Thanks again for all the nice comments! Now I just need to implement some of these great suggestions.
