Hey guys, can you please review AnimeTower?

I've been looking for ways to improve the site and gain popularity. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Looks good, I liked the design. I wonder why you still keep emply pages like that in the Site Operations section. Even Contact Us, Disclaimer, Site Staff are empty.

 

Thanks. Actually they're not empty, but I didn't realize until you said that, that the forms are only appearing in firefox. Not sure why but I'll have to fix that.

I am getting this error "Fatal error: Undefined class name 'vbulletinhook' in /home/videknet/public_html/forums/includes/class_bbcode.php on line 2405" Please fix it

I found its great!!!

 

I think that it looks really nice how it is now. I probably can't find many changes except for small itty-bitty things that I find, but here it goes:

The icons on the right sidebar that lead to social bookmarking sites don't really need borders. I know that they are images with links, but that can be easily changed in css. I would also try to add more spacing, or just more distinction between the links in the sidebar. It seems like they are just listed one after another after another, and it kinda feels like it would just be a list of ads (therefore, my eye ignores it at first, which is bad because it's a crucial part of the navigation). The header looks great: it really stands out and gives the site an anime feel. Out of all the anime sites that I've been to, yours is definitely one of the best.

One last suggestion, and it's not even a bad one: In the top navigation strip, when you hover over a link the background changes to white. Since white is the background color of the page, it looks kind of weird. There are so SO many more things you can do to show a hover state over the links (with the background, the text, or both the background and the text). That's just my 2 cents though. Great site!

The anime info database is pretty worthless in my view. A lot of the topsite images don't load.

As an anime fan, the focus on pop anime is a turn off.

 

It's good for people that know what they're going there for. For the newbie to Anime it's confusing, you should make the HOME page more about introducing people into it, unless you are only geared towards the experienced...

 

I get an error when I click comments in the blog. It is broken and needs fixing.

In the chat page, it says "チャートに登録する"(login to the chat) in Japanese but チャート is wrong.
チャット is correct. It should be "チャットに登録する".

I think a site like this lends itself well to a newsletter. If you have one, I didn't see an obvious way to sign up for it. Keeps people interested, and you could include upcoming videos, or teasers of what's to come, most popular episodes, etc. I think the more stuff you have out there promoting and reminding people of your site, the more likely they are to revisit and tell others. Just my two cents.
