I am currenlty working on my SEO. I have optimised a script that I had for better ranking. Please tell me what you think. 1. my meta tags 2. keyword density 3. Image tags etc. Is my SEO good or bad. Link http://www.800recipes.com I will apreciate any comments thanks!!
I'm not an expert but it does look like you have done a decent job so far. However I notice your header tag (<h1) is right at the bottom of the page, it should be as near the top as possible and preferably contain your page title / main keyword(s). Also consider using secondary headers (<h2>) for your 'Newest Recipes' / 'Top 10 Recipes', etc. And I notice that some of your images (particuarly the navigation bar images) do not include alt-text tags. And if you want to win extra brownie points with the search engines you could try and implement static URLs via mod_rewrite with the ability of adding your keyword(s) to the URL. Although it does seem that you have good URL structure - wth the appropriate anchor text linking to internal pages. Just my opinion of course. Again, I am not an expert.
That's a good start. Now working on getting inbound links. I've used that script before. It works pretty well, but the search engines can't index the actual recipes hidden in the member's area. -Jon
