I only used leaderboard & skyscraper and wanted to have some feedbacks on how to improve ad placement.. www.alphans.org there are some pages that the skyscraper & banner are not displaying..is this just normal?
Yes it's normal if Google has not crawled them yet. If it keeps up for a day or more, try using section targeting or rewrite the pages (it may not be able to find any relevant ads). Section targeting is good anyway. I'd recommend using link units at the bottom of the page, perhaps right below the next. People are reading over there anyway and getting ready to click. You may want to experiment placing them in the black footer as well as at the bottom of the paragraph Instead of a banner at the top and the skyscraper, I'd go with a box that leads into the text (place it in a div and float it left). The skyscraper may or may not be performing as it's very easy to turn out, although the small navigation links on top mean people may be more likely to see it when they look to the left for navigation. Also if you do want to keep the banner, consider making it black with white text and putting the navigation links white. Also consider placing the nav links below it (making the navigation links also part of the large black banner on top). The reason for this is the white ads by google text stands out right now - it would be better if all the text blended together IMO. If you do make any of these changes, would you mind me using it as a case study for my adsense blog? Sid
If I were you I would put an ad link unit up above that banner you have at the top but below the navigation.
thanks for the review. I realized that the leaderboard and the skyscraper are too distracting. I've just keep the skyscraper and removed the leaderboard coz I think left side is more noticeable. I am also considering the link unit below the top navigation.
