Please review 401AK47.com - Zombie Survival

Please check out my friend's Zombie Survival website. He is an accomplished designer (just won Internet Retailer Hot 100 for his day job work) but he wanted to create a fun site while learning a bit more about WordPress. The name came during a presentation on 401k plans (American retirement savings plan), I guess he was thinking about AK47 assault rifles at the same time.

I think he's done a great job but he wanted more than my opinion so he asked that I throw it out to my favorite webmaster community. I will pass along any feedback on content, design, usability, SEO, writing style, technical aspects anything you can think of.

That's an amazing website , really good idea.
Just 2 things ,i don't know if the games improve the website ,it's get you outside of the real zombie attack .
And the admin should have an avatar .

 

Good work and nice and different niche......... i liked the games section.......

 

I forgot to mention that the games are addictive...... i kept on playing one of them continously for about 30 -35 mins...

 

I will pass a long the note to him about having an avatar. He added the game to add some stickiness. Time on site has gone up.

Games can increase time on site and also will get some people addicted meaning they will come back.

He was looking at his Google Analytics and thought time on site was low so that's how he got that point of view. He did go get a gravtar thanks to your suggestion.

He started with a good WordPress theme and replaced the graphics with his designs.

 

I love the design, nice colors, and effects, and very nice background .

 

I like the design, very well done. The only thing i find annoying is the articles font size (too small) or maybe i just need to change glasses

 

Like:
Anything with zombies I'm all for
Dark style fits the site
Social network icons that fit the site style
Blog being done in a 'day' style

Dislike:
No contact page
I'm not a huge fan of the header or the pollz
The interface for the games could use some kind of change. I love the idea but shown one on top of another as it is I'm not a huge fan of.
Comments on the bottom of the games page

 

Thanks for comments. Contact page is a good idea. I am not sure if he can do much with the games, I believe it's just a plug in arcade.

BTW, that's a nice zombie site you have.
