Please could you all reveiw this site and be as painfully honest as you can www.compare-holiday-deals.com Thanks
under parking: "If your flying out of any of the UK airports and need to find the best rates on airport parking we have the latest deals below" making grammatical errors on a site meant to be for professional use is corporate suicide. have someone read over everything you've written before going live.
The reason i ask is that this site was created for me and i was ripped off. I didnt know what websites were worth and thought from what was shown that it was allot better then what it is! Im trying to get my money back and want some backup to the fact that he stiched me up and gave me crap. So can you also put how much if anything you think this site is worth! Thanks
Well hope you didn't pay much for it although looking at the sellers website, I'm guessing you did. On the plus side the domain is good, if you wanted to rebuild the domain will certainly help. Negatives Painfully slow when I first visited, I would have given up long before a page finished loading, although later loads were fine. There is pretty much no content, so it wont really get much coverage in search engines, also the company that I assume sold you the site is selling pretty much identical ones to others so you will need to make yours unique. Yes the whole load of ads are in part annoying, but they are targeted to what the person visiting the site is looking for, so its not a huge issue. Its not a professional looking site, which would mean people less likely to click on your ads, however the sites they are going to and where you would book are professional. So if you paid the £150 quid they are charging as the site stands you are pretty unlikely to make that back. However you can make changes to improve things, read up on what on SEO and marketing techniques here at Digitalpoint. As for being ripped off, technically no you weren't you just didn't do your research, technically the site is capable of doing everything promised (Assuming the affiliate ID and Adsense codes are actually yours), its just very unlikely to. So where do you go from here 1) Give it up as a bad lot and hopefully learn for the future. Most people make at least one mistake, move on and learn from it. Stop paying the 5 quid a month hosting, or move it to cheap £5 a year hosting 2) Follow their marketing instructions and things you learn from here and try and make a go of it. Money doesnt make itself, they say they provide Adwords accounts, and if you use marketing skills you can learn here. However its a VERY competitive industry and isnt something I would imagine a rookie to able to make a dent in. I seriously doubt however unless you either make signifiant improvements to the site and / or gain traffic from Adwords or other traffic gaining techniques you will ever make even the £5 a month to cover hosting. 3) Try and get your money back They say they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, however I'm guessing its worthless, as I imagine they would say they have given you all the tools you need, its up to you to work at it. As for how much its worth, I wouldnt pay any more than 10 quid ($20) for it, and I certainly wouldnt pay £5 a month to get it hosted, very cheap £5 a year hosting accounts would be more than enough for sites like this. Thanks i have asked for £100 back in excghange for the site £50 for him, that way at least i get some money back etc but seems he wont go for that so i may just get a refund via paypal. He does as you say, say 100% satisfaction guarantee. Thanks again
