That's certainly not the first time that base URL is commented on.

Is there an ad TO this URL or FROM?

    So what.

Are you linking out to them?

If not, then I just don't understand the issue.

MY problem is that I don't want to have links to pornographic websites on my forum!! I have disabled the coop until I have time to optimise the forum better, but when it is completed I'll certainly be reporting any pornographic sites that are linked on my site!!

I confirmed there is no ad pointing to that site (or any page within it) in the ad network.

Having reread this again, just to make sure...

What we are saying here is...
"I found this in my logs and I don't want this site linking to me".

What we are not saying is
"I am linking out to a porn site"

What is the problem here guys.

You have to be kidding right. So fu*king what if that site is linking to you.

If I am wrong, please correct me, but are people now seriously saying that they don't want a site to link to them (Regardless of the content).

    Give me a break.

    Shawn was too quick ;)

There is no way for anyone to control who links to you (with or without the ad network).

If it's only ads FROM that URL then like Oliver/SEbasic says: No Problem.

You may not like it but the Al Qaida homepage might throw up a link to your site one day, perhaps stating you're on their blacklist.

You may not like it but Elton John might throw up a link to your site one day with the text saying he wouldn't mind having sex with you.

Slashdot might link to you one day and say your site is the worst ever built.

Bottom line: Whether you like it or not, you will always find a wide variety of sources (ideally!) linking to you. Just like they are free to do so outside the coop, there's no point in prohibiting it within the coop.

Dont think thats what they mean nor do i... The main url is in the coop and points from my site to the main url of topbiz it aint directly pointing to the above url. Although it isnt directly linking to that url i still think it shouldnt be in there. Does google look only at the landingpage or does it look at the whole site as one big picture as well, called theming..

I believe it is being done and should be determined on a per-page basis. That's how Google seems to serve up results and that's the only way to effectively police the network.

Well how exactly do you plan on getting the links removed?

I'm sorry, but this is just a pointless thread.

As I mentioned earlier, I checked the ads database, and there is no ad pointing to it. Unless the owner deleted it between the time you saw it and I looked for it no idea why it would show.
