I'm moving to Brooklyn Heights, NY this weekend. I need recommendations for local phone, cellphone, and broadband internet companies. Apartment manager told me that they won't let cable, so I think my only chance is DSL for broadband. Any recommendation is greatly appreciated.
Up here, there's a radio ad for help with traffic tickets... they have a little jingle that kinda reminds me of Ghostbusters: "Who you gonna when your back's against the wall? 1-triple 8-excopper" There's an after midnight version too: "Who you gonna when your back's against the wall? 1-triple 8-exhooker"
My folks live in the city and have Verizon DSL, works great when I use it and I have only received one "tech support" phone call in the 3+ years they have had it. But, if you want serious bandwidth. Check out Speakeasy. They are the self proclaimed ISP for geeks. If you want to sign up with them, let me know, I can refer you from my account.
