Guys i am planning to buy a domain name and also a hosting service.my intention is to make a big forum like Digital Point Forum or something like that which has everything from chatroom to download section , etc.so what should be my qualifications for this kind of a thing??what kind of bandwidth do u suggest for a forum having around 50000+ members??
Forums are always tricky to build and they take time. With a forum you have to have one thing which is patience. Your forum will not be populated over night with 50k+ members. My advice would be to buy VB (VBulletin) because has scalability and will grow with your forum. It will save a lot of headache when your forum does become big. As for hosting, rather than going out and getting a fully loaded dedicated server, start of small because it's pointless paying for a fully loaded, high bandwidth server when you only have 6 registered, active members. Start of with something small. Perhaps a shared hosting account but make sure you can upgrade when your forum grows. KP
can i start sections having warez like music , games , movies , softwares downloads just like how other forums have??
Well, you can have what you like on your own forum I guess so the answer to that would be yes. But if your going to go down the "Warez" route, I would seriously consider hosting in Russia. KP
you can earn huge money if you have a big forum but if you are thinking of warez then adsense is not allowed more over then your idea of making a forum like DP is also defeated.
