To Anyone who knows what they're doing: I purchased the "Revolution Magazine" theme a couple of days ago and have since sured up my hosting account (hostingdude.com) and taken all the necessary registration steps with both word press and anything associated with the host account. That said, I cannot for the life of me get the theme uploaded, I have spent literally hours on the phone with customer support, and nothing works. I have scoured your forums as well as the word press support forums, et cetera and have come to the conclusion it ain't going to happen on my accord. Thats where this request comes into play: If I email you the zipped "Rev. Magazine" theme which I dl'ed upon purchase and supply you with the hosting information is there any way you could upload it for me? I know this is probably one of the more bizarre requests but I so desperately just want it uploaded so I can begin working on it. Please, you would alleviate a lot of stress if you would be kind enough to help me out. Please message me Cheers, Matthew
I believe you just upload the custom theme to the Themes folder. Make sure you are not uploading a folder within a folder. Many times when you unzip a custom theme it is a folder within a folder. You just upload using an ftp program the inside folder and all the contents. I hope that makes sense. Once uploaded you just go to your dashboard and activate taht theme.
Ya I have tried that every which way and nothing seems to be working. I know it probably sounds retarded but it's gotten to the point that I really don't know what to do. I have tried it every which way frigging possible. Maybe if someone else could try I could then know if maybe something with host or template is screwed up.
Hi there Hyer Standard. I know whats wrong. I faced the same dilemma. Anyway, am not using that theme now, am using newspress! Most importantly, what you are doing wrong? Lol. Simple, you are uploading the entire folder. Inside that folder are two plugins and another folder with the theme. What you need to do is upload the folder within the folder into the themes directory and upload the plugins in the plugins folder of your installation separately. Cheers. You can always pm me if you still face any kind of 'issue'.
If you need help I can, and optimize it as well: http://www.wordpressmax.com/wordpress-optimization-service
I had some hard times trying to customize this theme I gave up [ I found many nice other themes for my projects - easy to customize/optimize - for free ]
really? Is it that bad? That is not good to hear. I mean I still can't even get it uploaded so I haven't seen for myself, but ya that's not good news. -Matt
It's a nice theme! It's just a personal thing At the moment I want to spend more time on content writing and marketing/promotion I will use this theme later when I have more time
OK if you can help in the customization or design please PM, I posted the request but apparently thats against the rules, and I received an infraction. So please PM if you are proficient with wp design. Thanks
