Hi Everyone, I'm new on here at Digital Point, and I love how active this forum is. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which eCommerce payment processors offer customer payment WITHOUT them having to log in, or create an account, I would prefer they didn't leave the website. I have paypal and it hasn't been much of a problem so far, but ironically the prices of my ebooks will be so low it creates the energy of not being worth the hassle, especially if they have to create a PayPal account. I guess it's, just like the dollar store. You want to be in and out despite the visual distractions at the register. People are willing to take more time with higher priced items, because it takes them more time to decide. People sometimes have a slight subconscious anxiety attack, (I know I do) when I buy something worth a lot and not only does it seem as if I made the decision quick, but the person smiles, says "thank you" then "good-bye" within seconds. Lol, I don't need a parade but.............just ask "Kirby" victims lol, when the salesperson leaves their home, they say "what, I just spent how many thousands on this freakin vacuum?" lol, lol...........a couple of days later they want a refund. When prices are low people make quick decisions and want a quick transaction, ironic isn't it? Don't mean to draw on (hence my screen name, lol) but it seems like a very helpful, knowledgeable community and any help would be greatly appreciated.
What software are you currently using? Generally you need to get a merchant account and a payment gateway, which will allow you to keep your customers on your website. There's no 3rd party processor that I know of that allows a website owner to keep their customers on their website for the entire sales cycle. If you don't have a shopping cart, there are a number of them that offer one-page or similar checkout methods. Choosing one really depends on your technical ability, and whether you want to try to integrate a shopping cart into your website, or try to integrate your website into a shopping cart as is the case with most ecommerce software, oscommerce, xcart, magento, etc...
Thanks for the advice. I currently have PayPal and I simply don't like the idea of each customer having to create an account. The transaction needs to be quicker for low prices. I would be a little irritated if I had to open an account just to give someone a few dollars. Thanks for your suggestions, I will check out the companies you mentioned.
