I find it sick that people are here trying to find ways to get a PayPal account. You know, even if you do use a US address, you will be found out eventually. I've seen people use these methods of getting bank accounts, and they're basically stealing identities. Don't you know that the person will get periodic mailings, and a notice about their new account? The addresses they give you to use are actual residents who currently live there, and so one call to PayPal can get your account limited, and this is the reason why it happens so often. You do not need a VCC if you're in the US and can open up a bank account because you can just get a bank card, and that's the end of it. If you're not of age, don't get a PayPal account because you are not old enough to handle yourself financially. That is why they make these rules. As for the people finding ways around the system - STOP. You are putting people into trouble everytime you use a Social Security and address that's not yours. It goes into that person's record, and you risk them not being able to get a job because YOU screwed up their credit. If all these international payment processors take credit cards and are safe, there should be no reason to have a PayPal account. Yes, it may take awhile to get people to trust them, but they have the right to justify a bad payment on their end aswell. PayPal should not be the standard payment system everywhere, especially at a site that has members from all over the world. If there was a way to make payments into PayPal and have them pushed into these other places, I'd make sure it'd happen. People trust in the logo because of eBay and other places such as Amazon and I personally think it'll end up taking over Google Checkout because of that. You can't just pop up one day and say "I'm here, sign up with me!" and Google is continuing to decline in seriousness because they're all about data , it's a user-run community that is based on the taste of the percentage and not the people who make it. I know that there are a lot of people suffering at the moment because of the financial crisis we're all having. I personally make $2,000 a week off freelancing web design, but I find the people making $5-$20 here and there is ridiculous. Don't think PayPal isn't watching either, they have blacklists, banned Ps, and everything. All they need is one call from someone claiming identity theft and POOF, your money is history.
You have a really good point here, but I think it wasn't necessary to write it with such big letters! If people like your post they will read it anyway.
