Please how does this work?

Please this question is about the google custom search button that you put on your website to allow searching pages on your website only. Imagine I update a page on my website but the old version of this page still shows up in google custom search results. Can I build links to this page to get it updated faster? I know there is a way of doing it in the webmaster tools but what I am trying to find out is whether links have effects on the way google indexes custom pages. I know how the regular googlebot follows links and crawls pages but the google custom search seems a little bit complicated.

So, is the Google Search box you have on your page not being updated quickly enough to be relevant when it's searching the page it's on?

i.e. You update the webpage today, and the search box isn't updated till next week so in that time the search box won't search the newest content... Let me know if this is your problem

Its very simple that, in google custom search results you only see the results that you can see on google.com for your site. so if you have updated the pages and want to get indexed in google, you can ping it. And by the way, using google CSE will give results of urls, when visitors will click on the result they will see the updated page and not the older one (because that do not exist).

    Login to your Google Account.
    Go to google.com/cse
there you will find the option to index your site map or individual pages.

Any way, I never do it as my custom search engine work smartly & index new content fast.

Is there any SEO benefit for Google Custom Search on your site, or is it only for enhancing visitor experience?

Actually, I've never used the search option for Asense - your questions brings up a good point. Is there any reason to choose Adnses for search instead of content? Any positive or negative results as far as the SERP's go? Any effects on Adsense payouts?

    ^^^
Search result ads bring more money than display ads in content. I have personally used it.
