I am new to SEO and wonder, what things I can do to try and get this website kidsinmadrid.com on to the front page of the major search engines. Please take a look and tell me if I am doing anything wrong or what I could do better.

for which keywords do you want to be seen?

 

First find your suitable keywords.Then do on page seo.
after that start building backlinks.

I want the keywords Madrid and Kids. Is that enough, how many do you normally need?

 

Madrid, Spain, Spanish city, kids, children, child

and that was off the top of my head.

Try using a keyword tool like

you have to generate first your major keywords of your niche and then do the on page optimization after that gather your backlinks to other high pr websites.

 

For better search engine rankings, on page optimization is important.
For Meta tags, Limit the number of core phrases targeted on a single page, stick to 2-3 core phrases (max). Each keyphrase should be separated by a comma & space, no double spacing (ie keyword, keyword).

 

First, Use a Proper title and meta description !

The first think I would do if I were you is this:

Loose the "Home" page title for the homepage. This is one of the biggest errors from a SEO point of view!

 

I think you should add effective keywords in your title tags/h1 tags and text as well.
