I was advised by someone that a quick way to get backlinks to a blog is to list it with a few blog directories. One of the directories they recommended, when I signed up, says I need to verify my site with them, and one of the ways to verify was to add it to my blogroll. I'm new to Wordpress and blogging. Is there any harm with adding their link to my blogroll? If so, is there anything in particular I need to have or change in the settings as I'm setting up the link that may help or hurt? I read something about needing to place a nofollow on all outgoing links? But then I read it was unethical to do this. Getting a little confused. Your suggestions? Thanks.
Don't do reciprocal link building. go for one way link building. you can also do blog commenting for your blog site. all the best.
Thanks for the reply. Sounds like I need to think some more about using blog directories. Is there a problem listing with a directory that doesn't require a verification like BlogCatalog does? Or maybe they all require a link back?
