Does anyone know of a software that can transfer files from one server to another... I dont want to go through the trouble of downloading the files on my comp and then having to upload them again on my server - isn't there an easier way to get the files uploaded directly to the server from the download link? Any help is much appreciated thanks
If you are on *nix servers, you can just use the ftp program from BASH... Assuming you have shell access. Though I'd probably tar and zip all the files you are going to transfer first to reduce the handshaking overhead (making the transfer go usually about five to ten times faster)
Well, sticking strictly to your question, flashfxp does what you asked. It allows you to connect to two FTP servers and transfer files between them. But that's all. It wouldn't take files from the web and download. If you are comfortable installing scripts, one of these two should help you (2nd link is often down, try it later): http://abdussamad.com/archives/63-Server-to-Server-file-transfer-script.html http://freecodesnippet.com/articles/uncategorized/ajax-server-to-server-direct-file-transfer/
Thanks guys - I had a look at the scripts..I dont think any of those would work for me.. I have membership to several PLR and MRR sites and I dont want to download the files and then upload them again to my server - I'm looking for a program where I can simply enter the download url of the file and click transfer for it to upload to my server... Cheers
