I just bought a domain name from someone here, and I'm trying to transfer it to my hosting account. I have the new info for the nameservers, but can't find where to put it in cpanel.

    please help

If you are not using your own name server then all you need to do is to create the site on your hosting account. In your Cpanel, it should be listed as 'Add-on Domain'. Once you set it up, you can put the contents in there.

The Nameserver information would be something you enter at the Domain Name Registrar where the domain name is registerd at. You need to change that to the details your web host provides you with. It should be the same as your main account.

You have to go to where the domain is registered (eg: godaddy, namecheap, etc) and there you point the domain to the nameservers.

    thanks a lot guys,
yea, namecheap is where I change the DNS info,

    there's one other thing i don't get...
there is a domain registered at twocows that i have to download a database from, but the "manange your domain" panel for twocows only allows me to change contact information and DNS info....
anyone know where I can access the database from?

That is where you go to your cpanel.
Then click the backup or download icon to get a copy of your database.

just append :2082 to the end of the domain name.
May need to enter your username and password to then continue on to your cpanel.

    http://www.yourdomain .com:2082

Is this a hosting account or you have full control over the whole server ?

If you have access to the Server WHM, you can do a Cpanel Transfer which will grab everything and set it up on your server. Done that a couple of times and work like a charm.

If you have a hosted account, you need to go to Cpanel then under Database, go to PhpMyAdmin (the link is at the very bottom of the page) then just import the MySQL Dump.

Namecheap only points the Domain Name to the DNS Server maintained by you or your webhost.

Depending on which web host you use, they may be able to help you shift the site over for free or for a fee.

The Cpanel can be access at http://yourdomainname/cpanel too
