Please help me. I am a newbie and have just started an health article directory using a article directory plugin. My only problem is that I'm yet to figure out what to rank for. Why? Because I'm targeting three things. 1) Authors that will write for revenue (because it is a revenue sharing article directory) 2) Health articles that'll rank high. Please what do I do? At the time, 3) I also want webmaster to come to the directory and pick up health articles. How do I place it? What should I rank for? In terms of meta tag, page header, which keyword shoild I target, e.t.c. Please I need your help so that I will not get screwed up. Thanks Oke Timothy
Hey Oke, sounds like you have taken on an ambitious task. Are you sure you want to start an article directory without any knowledge about setting up or running such a site?
This is a bit difficult to answer...Infact you should figure out what your Health Directory should be in the first place... and its better to focus one thing at a time..For example better target any one of these goals at a time...Also its a bit difficult to attract people to submit articles to your directory unless you have some very good quality articles that ranks in SEs and a decent pagerank....keep all these in mind and plan...Good luck
@Robs132, It is not like I can't manage the directory since it is on wordpress. The problem is I don't know the keyword to target. If I shoul target the health articles or the webmaster that needs health articles or the writers. In that decision making is where my problem lies. I will appreciate your help @designdestination, I am using a revenue sharing model for the article directory so I don't think getting writers to write for me will be a problem. I have it all planned out before I started by the point is when it comes to technicalities of a project, a newbie like myself is supposed to seek for help. Is it not possible to target the three seo wise? If I then need to target only one, please what will your suggestion be from the three options I have. Thanks Oke Timothy
Each article should have its own keywords based on its own content. For the keywords, you can probably target all of them if you wanted by creating different pages for each subject. It will just be a bigger and longer project. If you want to know which keywords will bring you more traffic, check out Googles adwords keyword suggestion.
You need to decide what you want from your website. If you want people to list their articles on your site, focus on keywords targetting this action eg. 'upload article', 'share article' etc. Once you begin to build traffic for this keyword you can then start adveresting the articles you have available for others to use with keywords like 'free articles', 'download articles' etc
Thanks all for your response. I now use the all in one seo tool and it is working great. I have decided on what I want to do and I have implemented it. Please check my health and fitness articles and pass your comment. Thanks
Exactly! Each article will have its individual topic and therefore its own keywords and will thus rank for what its about. If you are using WordPress try a SEO plugin like AllInSEO and it will do the job for you.
