Hey all, Having a problem with one of my new sites (2 weeks old, so not really "NEW") Site is here: Finance Management The 300x250px advert on the top right is showing a Blank/White advert this was displaying ads fine yesterday without any problems, and when checking just before it's showing what it is now. Privacy policy is in place, i have not exceeded the maximum amount of ads, is this problem on Googles end ? Any ideas what is going on ? Appreciate any help on this topic. Regards Darren
it happened to me n other DP members as well, i used firefox then after i changed to ie it worked.. i m not the expert in this case, but try to change to other browsers to see if it works or not
Internet explorer, google chrome, firefox are all showing the same blank "White" box Never seen this before, i'll check again tomorrow and if still the same, thing i will contact google. Thanks for your help.
The problem is that you need a certain plugin to see that ad. I know cause I can't see it either and that is what my browser told me)
This is Bloody stupid... i have updated every plugin i have and still can't see the stupid ad, how are my visitors meant to see it if i cant ? No body is going to click a blank box.
All I can tell you is what my browser told me. "This site wants to install xxx plugin. Do you want to install it" or something like that. It appears on the very top of the window. It might have something to do with flash player. I don't want it installed and have had the same issue on many other sites. I would be willing to bet you $5 that if I installed that stupid plugin, the ad would show up. Unrelated to that, have you tried clearing cache, temp internet files, download history, etc, and then closing and opening the browser?
Thanks for your help mate, yeah i have done all of the above...it managed to show a spider advert before but then went back to the white box... Not only are publishers getting stiffed but also the advertisers themselves.. if i site asks me to install a plugin i close the site and go else where, you would think google would not allow adverts that need 3rd party plugins to display an advert. UPDATE: every hour or so it is showing a normal ad, but then going back to the white box as soon as i refresh.
This is strange. I tried again going to YOUR site and the top of my browser (Chrome) says "An additional plug-in is required to display some elements on this page". The advertisement on the right is showing fine. It is a One Stop Money Shop advertisement. This is different result becuase the last 2 times I got the identical message but NO advert. But, I do NOT see the advertisement that is supposed to appear above your Finance Management Windows 7 Apps. This is on the left side this time. In its place I get "This webpage is not available". In IE I get the message: "The page you are viewing uses Java. More information on Java support is available from Microsot website". I get the advert on the right, but again do not get the advert on the top left. Just get a Red X. I know that you have all of your plug-ins ok, so you said, and I know that I don't.) But, I think you will have to agree that both Chrome and IE cannot render the page correctly. The common factor here is JAVA. The other possibility might be in your WP theme. This is a long shot but if you could try this without too much trouble, how about setting up a quick and dirty html page and include your google ads (all of them) and see what happens. Course just use junk text. Post the html page link or pm me with it and I will see what happens with the html page. I am getting ready to leave for a pool tournament and will be gone most of the day. But can check it when I get back, if I can still see)
Thanks for so much help, but i am still seeing the same problems, i have several sites using the same theme / template and all other niches except finance are displaying the adverts fine.... This is one strange problem
