Hello everyone... I've had a HUGE problem with trying to make money online. My problem is... staying with one idea. I've tried blogging... fail. Trying to create an eBook... fail. Wanted to do reseller hosting... fail. Now I started www.dealcanine.com and I'm about to quit that because I feel that it can't be anything profitable so I quit the idea. My issue is, should I keep on track with my current idea or should I move onto something else? What is seriously the best way to make money online and how can I stick to the goal? Thank you!
Hey Technolochic, did you create that site yourself? It looks really awesome! Look, here's the truth: If you want to make money online then you just HAVE to stick to one strategy. Here's why: If you don't take your time to build up a "home base" then getting traffic is hard. If you hop from one niche to the next just because you didn't make that $10.000 in a week, you can't take your existing websites, articles or list subscribers with you to the next niche. Everything you've built will be have been for nothing. If you stay on track, though, you will be able to do lots and lots of things over time that you never thought were possible. Opportunities will arise that you just couldn't have been able to see before. This might not have been the answer you've wanted to hear, but it's the truth. Anyways, good luck with whatever you want to do!
Nicely put, I couldn't have said any better. That's why I just stayed with writing articles, because of the simplicity and easy traffic.
That was an impressive site you've put together. Try to stick with 1-2 traffic generation strategy so that you don't get too overwhelmed. I suggest article marketing and social bookmarking, simply because that works. Spend at least 2-3 hours a day for the next 3 months writing articles and you will make a huge difference.
Do you love to do website? If no, then it may be your answer. Do you love to do SEO or PPC or Internet Marketing to promote your site? If no, another factor. How much time would you willing to spend for your website? Can you spend with them 16 hours a day and treat with them like there are your own business property? I did not say you have to devote yourself too much or spend a lot of hours doing things yourself. You just have to do what you do really love to do it. It would be a hard way for being success for internet marketing or make money online if you just come here because of "easy money can be made from internet" type of mindset. Online business costs you a lot less compared to "Brick and Mortar" business offline. However, it is not easy and sometime gives a headache like when you do offline business. Choose the best path for yourself.
You need to make a list and set goals. If you haven't done this in the past. It's possible why you have failed. whey you said: I've tried blogging... fail. Trying to create an eBook... fail. Wanted to do reseller hosting... fail. What did you try blogging about? What where your goals? How did you fail? Did you set any goals to begin with or did you just start a blog and start blogging? I'm not sure if you've done this or not already, but believe me writting down a list of things to do as well as goals will make a huge difference. Try writting down (not typing it into a word doc or notepad but acutally writting it) the top 10 things you want to accomoplish and come back in the next 3 to 6 months and see how many things you've crossed off that list. It's worked for me practically every single time... With about 75 to 100 percent of the things I want accomplished DONE every time I make the a list. I started doing this after hearing Robert Allen and Jack Canfield say it in their books, and it's worked like a charm. Hope this helps.
I am loving the design of your site! It is such a nice piece of work it deserves for people to see it. I know you would be doing the web a favor by putting in the hard work of getting it number 1 for whatever keywords you choose. Build those links, write guest blog posts on highly established blogs. But, only if it is your passion - only if you love it.
Thanks for the advice guys. I appreciate it very much! Yes, I created the site myself. I really have the passion to continue this Deal Canine project I'm working on now. I think I will make a list of goals that I want to set in order for it to grow. One thing is, do you think the site has potential? If you think it does, I'd be more than happy to pursue the work I put into it.
I agree the site is very professional-looking. Is it a WordPress theme? My only immediate thought is that doesn't make it obvious what you want the visitor to DO when they visit. You've only got a few seconds to grab their attention. To stay on track you really need to have a proper plan about how you're going to make your website work. Where are you going to get traffic? How are you going to monetize that traffic? How are you going to make sure the site keeps growing? etc In the past, the times I've found myself not sticking to projects is when I don't have a proper plan.
Hi guys, Thanks again for keeping up with me! Yes, this is on a Wordpress platform. I worked pretty hard to put it together. I'm not sure how to get traffic. I was thinking of approaching some local newspapers to advertise my site. I'm not sure how to exactly monetize traffic. To make the site keep growing, I would somehow need to come up with great incentives. Plus, I may venture out this summer to create a simple iPhone app pertaining to the website to make a small profit. I guess I just need a little help on how to gain traffic and how to start making some money to prosper into a good site for a large income. I'm having some hope in this website to take off. Do you think it has potential so far?
