Hi All, I am developing my website www.arbetov.com for 10 years. It has about 500 articles original text in Russian with very good quolity. The PR unexpectedly dropped to 3 yesterday. How it could be ? What should I do to return it back ? What could be a reason ? 3 days ago the power in my house was off for 4.5 hours. The website was down. 2-3 weeks ago I added exstra Google banners close to the top of each pages. What should I do to get PR=5 back ? Thank you.
if you PR has went down this means website with high PR stopped linking to you. you can use a tool like linkdiagnosis to see what is the present situation with your website. To get your PR back you need more links from other websites with high PR
Thank you, Phdimov. Linkdiagnosis doesn't work. It stops in a few seconds. May be something wrong with the website ?
PR means very little. I would be looking at 2 things to see if you have a problem: 1) Have your rankings dropped? 2) Has your traffic dropped? Hopefully you have a recent baseline for rankings for your main keywords and some type of web analytics package. If the answer is NO and NO then you are fine... In March all of my first level pages linked to in my global navigation went from PR6 to PR0... but my traffic and rankings remained the same... Then mid-March those some pages jumped to PR1... Then a week or so later they went to PR2... Then a couple weeks later they jumped back to PR6... Go figure.
Thanks, Canonical. I don't think my ranking or traffic dropped. I realy don't have competitors for my content. Could you please provide with your pages PR6 which vary to PR0 and back. If you shy to do it here, please to my box. Thanks.
Just build more links. But more to the point, has your site traffic or revenue dropped? If not who cares what your PR is?
I guess back links dropped. Thats normal nowadays. . . Just continue getting quality links and don't do black hat.
Does PR even do anything in terms of search results? It seems like when I check the PR of each site in a given search, PR makes no difference in order.
It seems alot of people's pageranks went down this dance. Which is not good, but I imagine temporary. Might have something to do with a global dump another user was talking about in a previous post. On the other hand, I either had my pagerank stay the same or go up on my websites. I got a Pagerank 6 on a new site I just built. Some nice incoming links do help out. Even though I don't do much work with porn sites, for my own reasons. This might help your rank next crawl. I reccommend taking out some of the links you have to multiple pages on a single website. Take out some links of websites you no longer feel aid in your content. Or change those links to pages with ranks similar to yourself. I am guessing this might have a null effect [not sure]. So you are not diluting your pagerank elsewhere. ALSO, big thing. Try to get links on pages with higher page ranks than yourself. Set a goal of links 5-10 this month.
Thank you to all your advices. What is the best way to get backlinks with a reasonable cost ? Thank you in advance.
