This might sound like a stupid question. Is it more worth it to create a site that you love and are knowledgeale about, or is it better to develop a site that will make you profit even though the subject bores you?

factchecker ... first ask yourself why you want to create a site? Is it for monetary gain or not. If you want long term financial sustanability from a website go with your passion.

PASSION..... if you build for money unless you get lucky you will get bored with it and lose interest.. if it is your passion you will want to make it better.... then you can build for profit after you have your passion site! :)

As already mention - do it for love...

Your knowledge and passion will mean fresh, stimulating content that bots will adore and that will be good for PR, SERPs and visitor numbers. That in turn should help you moneterize your site and generate some income.

    Keep the fires burning :)

On the other hand as you develop and promote the site that you don't like you may become more knowledgeble about the subject and come to like it. It's a pretty common phenomenon in psychology. A lot of times people think they don't like something simply because they don't have enough information about it or don't understand it. But, as mentioned above, you have to determine the purpose of the site first.

This is true. If you are passionate enough about a site, it will make money as well. :)
