Hello, I am new to marketing. I have made a promotional page - www. ideanxt.com/go/mozy.htm its a storage service. How can I increase real traffic to this page? Thanks for your reply!!
Use standard techniques .. Write articles about storage space and link your page with them . Send link exchange requests to similar pages . Add it in forum links and signatures . Also add in email link . Submit to directories , or try ppc . use words of mouth and write articles in newspapers . Use tell a friend or add to friend programs
He's exactly right. Also, two other recommendations: -consider making the landing page a little more exciting -get rid of the counter (at least until you start getting a significant amount of traffic)
Use invisible counter like statscounter.com , i am using counter for all of my blogs but its not visible to someone who visit on my blog ... its free of cost .
Also - I'd consider whether the AdSense is really worth it or not? You're basically giving your visitors another exit apart from the back button. You want *everyone* to hit that "Get Mozy" button - so it should be the only way out of the site. Just IMO
i agree. If you have a counter on your site that is visable, then I would remove it as that quickly makes a site very unprofessional unless it is used how ebay uses the counter.
I think the home page is enormously better. It's a bit more "lively" and the editor's choice bit just lends more credibility. My first thought when I saw the url you posted was "what's in it for them, and why would I trust them with my files?" I don't use this kind of service, so I'd guess the average person viewing the site might have the same concern (not necessarily what a group of webmasters more familiar with similar services might think - I don't know though. Maybe I'm just not trusting.) When I clicked the home link I was like "Ah, OK. They're selling an upgraded package. That's how they're staying in business." I could trust the site a bit more. When all you do is show the free service, I got skeptical and had to wonder if you'd even stay in business, or if it would just be shut down one day out of the blue. So personally, I'd stick with the home page in the sense of trying to drive traffic. If you want to include more detail on a separate page that's fine. And I'm sure plenty of people will disagree with me. But I think sending it to your original page, for the average user, might raise more doubts than clicks.
Well if you are using lINUX server then it will better to look at awstats which are available in cpanel... otherwise go for the above choice
Yes. Counter has to go. The main problem is what makes your page different from other free online storage websites. At this point the niche is well filled. To get customers you have to differentiate. Add features like special storage for pictures, so you can browse them online (album feature), or maybe easy to operate drag and drop frame. I'm not sure how you can differenciate becasue the service is pretty basic, but you need to otherwise there's a little chance you'll get many people interested. Another thing. What is the average hard drive size of a computer today? About 40-60 gigs. You are offering 2G. Do you think your product really has much value and is worth the hassle of signing up and backing up online. I mean a USB stick can hold 1G and you can carry it anywhere. I'm trying to offer constructive criticism because I am an aspiring entrepreneur myself and suffer from the same biases as most of us do. Cute cat.
