I have purchased a resller hosting account last week.I wish to host my furure websites with this account and would also like to offer hosting to my friends and acquantances. Profit motive is not in my mind so I do not foresee any business with this account in near future.
I am completely new to this hosting arena and therefore facing problems obviously.
I do not know how to proceed further from registering a domain with GoDaddy and getting reseller hosting account with this domain. How to proceed further?I have access to WHM and Cpanel given to me by the hosting company.
I need step to step guide with proceeding ahead, if such a guide is available online. In addition to that my fellow DPIanns(who are real experts indeed), please help me out with your guidances.

You will need to find an available domain to register. After which, you will need to ask your host to set your nameservers of your domain, eg. ns1 and ns2 of domain.com, so you will get ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com. Your hosting provider will also give you 2 sets of IPs for the nameservers to point to.

Next, you will need to register your nameservers (ns1.domain.com, ns2.domain.com) with the IPs at your GoDaddy control panel. Then, edit the nameservers of your domain by following the instruction below:

    # Log in to your Account Manager.
    # In the My Products section, select Domain Manager.
    # Use the checkbox(es) to select the domain name(s) you want to modify.
    # Click Nameservers.
    # Select one of the following:
I host my domains with another provider
    # If you selected I host my domains with another provider, enter your nameservers. You must enter at least two nameservers for your domain.
(In this case ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com)
    # Click OK.
    # If an offer displays and you want to accept it select the option and click Add to Cart; otherwise click No Thanks, Set Nameservers.

You will need to wait up to 72 hours for your domain to propogate and you are set to go :)
