    hi

this is a AMD 4600+ dedicated server with 20mbps unmetered bandwidth. My processes are generally BW intensive. (proxies).

The server has got 2gb ram.

can someone please tell me the optimium values for apache? right now my apache config looks like this http://pastebin.com/m2c3e12e7

    thanks

I think what you'll get as a response here is that while there are many ways to tweak apache, one needs to know more about your application to tune the right parameters in the right directions. I'd suggest taking a look at performance-tuning your OS, and then look at apache; and googling for apache performance tuning for your version of apache would likely push you in the right direction.

If you have a *lot* of connections, Apache can be the problem. Sure it can be optimised, but it might be a good idea to look into alternatives for Apache itself.

LiteSpeed Webserver is a drop-in replacement, but costs money.
Lighttpd and nginx are both excellent and open-source, but require a little more configuration. Both will be much more memory and cpu friendly than Apache.
