Please help me understand ClickBank

I sell a computer program I made to help eBay buyers and am interested in selling it on ClickBank but don't understand exactly how it works even after watching the 5 slide "demo" on their site.

Is it really as simple as me adding my products to ClickBank, much like listing an item on eBay, and then that's it? Is it really that simple? How do people find and promote it? Who decides how much clickbank and the affiliate get from the sale? Is there anything else to do after listing the product on clickbank? Do the sales have to be made through my website? I remember signing up many, many, many years ago and remember I had to make a special "clickbank section" of my website where the buy buttons linked to clickbank but I never got to using it, does it still work that way needing a special "clickbank sales" section of your site? If so doesn't that mean you need to send the traffic to your site yourself anyway, so why give them a commission? I'm obviously missing something about how this is supposed to work but am dying to understand so I can start using it.

    Thanks

Yes, it is simple as that once Clickbank approves your product and you pay the setup fee. As for people finding it to promote it, it all depends on how well you are promoting it and selling it yourself, where interested affiliates will see this feature called "gravity" to let them know if your product is converting well. You also set the commission you want and yes, you need a website (not from a free site). Once you have your own website, you will need to setup a sales pitch page, thank you page, and payment link page.

I've been selling this product for several years so I already have a website and several thousand users and my site is still setup with the clickbank version even though I still never used it.

But I still don't understand the concept, why would I need to send traffic to my clickbank page? Isn't that the point of them taking a commission, for the traffic they send you?

I still have no understanding of how this is supposed to work, do they send traffic to my clickbank sales page on my site or do I need to and if I need to then why bother with clickbank at all when my site already handles sales entirely by itself?

I'm not looking for a system to handle my sales, I'm looking for a way to increase my sales, does clickbank do that?

Clickbank doesn't increase sales. It just helps open you up to other internet marketers who want to promote your product through their system. For increasing sales, this all depends on how good your product is and how good you are marketing it.

You should start with market research to determine the clickbank product you want to promote has demand.

Then promote it through an online platform like website, blog etc.

Generate traffic to the online platform.

    Then keep generating targeted traffic.

The advantage to clickbank is putting your product in an area where affiliates are willing to invest time in promoting your product. It’s a very appealing venue because the commission rate is so high: more often than not, 75%. The bad part is they get 75% of your sale. But if you aren’t making any sales on your own then you need those affiliates to help drive traffic. Keep in mind affiliates will only look to promote a product that has a good sale. Without conversions it's a waste of everyone's time.

If you don’t have trouble driving traffic to your product already, I’d say it isn’t necessary to use clickbank. If you want to try and push higher numbers, though, go for it and see how it works out.

First your product should be approved by the staff of clickbank and then you will be given the facility to decide the product price and how much commission you are willing to offer affiliates.
This works simple, you inform your affiliate program to affiliates probably the best ones and they will promote your product to hundreds of buyers who will later turn your customers.

I'm still not sure I understand, let me tell you what I think ClickBank is and let me know if I'm right (unless it's just me they should find a better way to explain the service they are offering as I simply still have no idea other than it's some form of affiliate program for digital products).

So this is what I think and hope it is, am I right:

I think ClickBank is a place where I can list my digital products I have to sell and make specific ClickBank sales pages on my website to sell them. Once I've done this, it's just a matter of time for ClickBank advertisers/affiliates/whatever you call them to find my product on ClickBank, decide to advertise it on their site and watch my sales increase.

So is this what ClickBank does? If not can someone clear what I'm getting wrong. Is it just me that finds it impossible to figure out what ClickBank is offering?

    Thanks
