Hi, I know similar question have been asked before, actually I found back here after googling. But I still couldn't figure it out how it works. I have already sent an email to godaddy but I do not expect any helpful answer from them, so I'm asking here. Here's the details: Domain registrar: Namecheap Web host: Goddady I want to separate the bandwidth use on the site by creating a subdomain and use a new server host. So I go forward and create a subdomain in Godaddy with the name img.mydomain.com and bought a new hosting from Goddady. Then I go to setup the new hosting account, after a few step I reached account details where I have to fill in the domain name. I put the name img.mydomain.com but it return errors saying that the DNS is not under their control. I tried adding 'A' record in Godaddy but where should I point to? Since I do not know the IP of the new hosting. Does someone have similar experience? Please guide me step by step! Thanks A lot!
Hi You will need to ask godaddy specifically about this as they will need to setup a dedicated IP for you. They may setup the DNS for you, it may internally conflict with there default settings.
