i want to start a website which is like www.yahoo.com or rediff.com ( i dont want the mail feature i only need the home page type) or jojas.com which type of general name is this if it is a blog we can search for blog script on google if it is a realestate site we can search for realestate script on google but i dont know the general name of this type script please give me a name to search on google and also if you know any script which like this please let me know that Thank you very much for spending your valuable time to read this thread
The most common thing to search would be 'CMS' aka Content management system, at least, form my opinion
You want like a portal? Get something like the above user said, it'll be tough finding something as complex as the big search engine portals for free.
Thing is with your two examples, yahoo and rediff, they're big sites, a fair bit going on with them, obviously custom coded. Im not sure its the best idea to search and hope to come up with a script doing similar to these. With some types of sites theres often clone scripts or alternatives but with others theres not an equivalent to get hold of. Have a discussion with a coder, see whats roughly involved behind sites as big as that.
