Hey, I have decided to make a new web hosting company and wish to buy a domain name for it. The only thing is, what should I call it? I would like to call it something original and something that will make it stand out from existing hosting companies. If you could help me out, I would me most appreciated. Thank you.
How about Lithrum I guess you are goverened by available domain names and trademarks. It needn't matter what you call it. Digitalpoint isn't the most obvious name for this type of site but look how many people visit it. Using DP would certainly help growth. Best of luck. Check out www.sedo.co.uk and see if there is a catagory for webhosting domains for sale/auction. There may be a good generic DN or something that really stands out. Either way be sure they are not TM'ed before registering.
Hecky is right crowd sourcing is the flavor of the day - toss out a $5 contest with a caveat that you'll spend up to $10-20 on the selected domain if they already own it. That way you're getting help from the masses on selecting a name, and input from the domainers who likely own some decent domain names and are looking to off load them.
