Hi All! I developped a completely customized website using my own hands (no template, no tiers scripts etc...) and I launched it 1 month ago (1st May). I have now more than 400 pages indexed in Google (unique content) but very few visitors... (in average 4-10 / day). I know that this is a niche activity (trade portal & directory for the seafood industry) but my competitors are doing better... my website: www.seafood-portal.com competitors: - www.fishnet-russia.com - www.sea-ex.com - www.seafood-source.com Can someone help/guide me....? I've done no more than 4€ with google adsense in one month... so it is very bad... :-( Thanks a lot per advance! Anto
Bookmarking and squidoo would be the best way to attract traffic towards your site you can really do this for gaining traffic and see if you can change your site's look as I dont think that It is really attractive site to keep on any visitor for 10 Seconds...that means look and feel should be best...Dont take it negatively...
Hi Samster7! Thanks a lot for your comments. According to my stats, I've got an average of 10 pages per visits (some visitors browse more than 60 pages per visits). I already tried squido and bookmarking but I have no follower and as this is a niche directory, this is really difficult (unless you know somebody in this sector who has a squido account and a lot of followers... but in the fishing industry... people are not really used to this kind of tools...) Anyway, thanks for your feedback, I won't take it negatively All critics/feedbacks are welcome!!
I really appreciate your positive response..thank you I would let you know with some solutions soon....
Hi Beetech, Hi Samster! Thanks a lot for your interest! I will submit my website Samster, Thnaks a lot, I will wait your feedback :-D Anto
I'm seriously thinking about removing the leaderboard banner... as it worst nothing (all the money I can get come from the right skyscraper)...
Hi Stuti13! Thanks for your feedback! I'm not sure Facebook is used by my target. I'll have a look on the other websites (I don't know them!). I talked about my website on Linkedin Cheers! Anto
hi cloud tags are looking good, nice design and colors. good ico if you can add gmap, it would be nice.
Hi B2BLocal, What is gmap (is it the google sitemap) I've created one but submited it through the google webmaster tool. Do you mean that it will even be more efficient to have it accessible for "human" users as well? Thanks a lot for your feedback!
Anto, You say that you have around 400 pages indexed with Google. Are any of them ranking in the top ten for a given targeted, trafficked search term that is relevant to you? Also, if there are trade magazines that have a website, or anything of that sort - they'd be good candidates for link exchanges. As would anyone who is in a "similar industry" --- all good candidates for link exchanges. I would start a campaign asking for link trades using some of your key words as anchor. Hope that helps. I'd have a more detailed answer for you after my morning cup of coffee settles in.
Hi BeerGuy Thanks for your reply, I think you're right and this is what I'm trying to do... (but lot of websites on the same subject are in fact competitors...) Regarding the keywords, I think it is OK, I've got mainly visits from people looking for specific companies (keywords are company names and I'm in the 10 first results for most of them). But for "product" pages, it is a litlle bit different and I get less visits. For the moment people enter the website through the company descriptions webpages. I think I need more time with google as it ahsn't yet references all the webpages... Thanks for your feedback
Have you done some promotion of your site, if not den start it now. I think twitter is the best source to get the fast and quality traffic to your site.
