Please help me I have little confusion on one big portal site I cannot take proper decision for following situation which part of the site promotion give me instantly more traffic. (a)Optimization start from root domain level (ex. http://www.abcxyz.com) (b)Optimization start from sub domain level or directory level (ex: http://www.xyzabc.com/loans/personalloan/index.html)
Well, it really depends if you have your main keywords present in your domain name. For example, if your domain name is personal-loans.com, then you can start from your home page by optimizing it for your loans related keywords and building incoming links. However, if your domain name does not contain your most important keywords, you can still create a subdomain of the form personal-loans.domainname.com and then build incoming links for this subdomain. The latter option will be much more beneficial from SEO point of view.
