Hi there, i am newbie in this thread and even newbie in apache, php, mysql. i am a freelance programmer and i am using VFP and VB. I only develop stand alone program. I want to expand my knowledge in programming and i decide to study this apache, php and mysql. But my problem is how can i correctly install the apache, php and mysql? in the installation process there are some data that i need to supply but it seems that i am not familiar with those. This afternoon i try to install the apache HTTP Server 2.2.4 in my laptop and it ask me the following. Network domain Server Name Administrator Email Address I want to install this apache http server in my laptop so that i can use it with php and mysql. what would be the network domain, serve name and administrator email address i will enter in the text boxes? please help me.
Assuming your laptop is Windows based why not just use http://www.apachefriends.org/ or http://www.server2go-web.de/ it's quick and easy to setup and generally just works.
In particular, you could install Apache Friends' XAMPP package: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html
