If you worry about that, why dont you just pay the $9, it is just a small amount? And you shall pay the $9 because you owe it.

Well what's the worst that can happen? PayPal will just keep sending you emails about it until its paid. If it's not paid after 30 days they will suspend your account and will then try to recover the funds. If they fail to do that themselves they will pass it to a debt insolvancy agency. I say "pass" but they actually "sell" the debt to them. But for $9 they wouldn't as it wouldn't be worth doing. All that would happen is your PayPal account will be frozen and you wont be able to use it. It's not the end of the world and nobody is going to come banging on your door about it. Why such worry?

Why would they "sue" him for? He hasn't broken any laws. There is nothing they can do apart from send you emails or even write to your address asking for it. If he doesn't pay it, then they will freeze his account and sell if off to a debt collection agency who who also send him red letters asking him to pay it. If he still doesn't pay, they could send bailiffs around and they will do an inventory on his stuff and see what's valuable enough to take away and send to auction to recover the debt. By then it would have gone up more including Bailiff costs and court costs. It's $9. Just bloody pay it!
