hai everyone... i feel very confused about my blog, it's already PR 4 ( i use http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php to check the PR) , but it is still number 3 in google. the strange thing is, the number one site in the keyword i target has PR0. What should i do????, should i add more backlinks???, by the way, i don't optimize the on page seo for my blog... this is my blog, please check.. http://catssecret-info.blogspot.com/2010/03/why-do-cats-eat-grass.html (but the domain itself still has no PR since i never optimize it) and the keyword i target is "Why do cats eat grass?", thanks for your help...
Set up Hyperlink to blog's back link in content's in 4th paragraph on this keywords "Why do cats eat grass?". and do some off-page activities. My suggestion is Do some link exchange with healthy PR sites.
"Set up Hyperlink to blog's back link in content's in 4th paragraph on this keywords "Why do cats eat grass?"."..... does it really help??.. thanks..
I'd suggest you to do link exchange with other pet site owners as a way to improve your ranking. It should work
PR is not atall tells you that you are going to have a good SERP rank. Try to get good links relevant from your theme and then you can expect to get a good search engine rank.
Obviously your PR has nothing to do with how high you're going to rank for your keywords, right? I would just keep building backlinks and building backlinks and building backlinks. Eventually you will get there. By the way, how are you building backlinks? I find that article marketing and Press Release submissions work the best for me.
Your PR has absolutely nothing to do with where you're site will rank. If you want to increase your rank then build links. Lots of 'em.
Try spreading backlinks using something like "seo link vine" (url in signature) or "My Article Network". You are able to choose category specific blogs that your article will get published on.
Learn SEO from www.ambabo.com... You can make the targeted keyword in Google #1 rank. Read lots of SEO blogs. And implement it soon to join with your competitors.
Where to start. Well seeing as you equate Pagerank to rankings for individual keywords you need a better grounding in all things SEO. DP has a pretty good sticky post by Dan about SEO I suggest you read it in its entirety before you post another thread. You can see it here. Basically the most important factor for your ranking is link authority and anchor text. So you need more links pointing to your site or page (on related sites) saying "why do cats eat grass". There are a number of ways to get this done but I will assume you would prefer not to spend any money. So here is a quick checklist of opportunities for you - Write articles on the topic and add to dofollow article directories or add guest post on related sites. - Find related blogs with do follow comments and regularly post comments - Add the link in your signature on forums you could already have 89 links from DP to your site. - Bookmark your site pages on the various social bookmarking sites with dofollow links - set up squidoo lens or hub pages on the topic and link to your site But be sure you understand what you are doing and why you are doing it. Time is a precious and finite resource and "a stitch in time, saves nine" as they like to say. Who is they? I don't know either but they are obviously wise and love to compress words of wisdom into handy little sayings for me to quote .
Hey cool, a cat site! My site's also about cats ^_^ I guess they're more popular than I thought. I would say that this means PR means nothing but I think it must mean something. Maybe if you analysed why that other site is above yours? maybe it is more optimal for that keyword, in-site?
hai akdiver, thanks a lot.. now i know where my mistake is.... i vary my anchor text to much... hai groovystar... nice cat site wow... you got a lot members in your site...
